"Nashville's Main Squeeze"

Releases "All Over It" CD

The Songs:

1. Lovin' It Up (Altpolka) Vip,Vipperman,J.B. Rudd
For this recording, we solicited music from other songwriters in Nashville. The moment I heard this one I loved it! I could relate to the fun lyric & happy tempo! I believe it's a song that everyone will enjoy!

2. A Polka Day (Polka) Hal Ketchum
Hal Ketchum is an amazing singer/songwriter who has had a successful career in country music. I was in the Nashville airport when I got introduced to Hal, and he told me that he had written a polka. He sang it to me and I thought it was great! I was honored that Hal let me record it, and agreed to sing on it as well. After one listen, you'll be humming the tune!

3. It Starts with a "B" (Swing) Brett Beavers, Mike Waldron
I laughed out loud when I first heard this song. I've been playing it in my shows for the past few months and the crowd loves it! It's turning out to be another girl anthem - along the lines of my recording "He's Too Fat". The swing tempo is a big hit as well!

4. The Dummy Song (Polka) Lew Brown, Billy Rose, Ray Henderson
Ever since I can remember, my father, who plays the piano accordion, has been playing this song. When I decided to record it, I was glad that he agreed to play on it as well. It is our first recording together, and hopefully not our last!

5. Livin' On Nine (Swing) Phil Swann, Jimmy Wayne Barber
This is another one of those songs that the first time I heard it I loved it. It's got a great feel and sweet lyric! It also inspired some of the photographs we use for the CD.

6. Enough Is Not Enough (Cajun) LynnMarie Rink, Steve Ivey
My love for cajun music lead me to write this along with Steve. The idea started one day when I said "I seem to 'never be satisfied'"! Steve and I wrote it over a couple of days.

7. I Still Cry (Waltz) LynnMarie Rink
I woke up one morning and I was missing my mother, who passed away when I was seventeen. I realized at that moment that no matter how many years go by, I will always miss her, and I still cry about what I have lost. The song flowed out of me in about 5 minutes.

8. Heart and Soul (Polka) Hoagy Carmichael, Frank Loesser
Okay, I have to admit, I never knew this song had lyrics! When I heard it on a Crystal Gayle record, I decided to record it polka style - with a twist!

9. This Time (Altpolka) LynnMarie Rink, Steve Ivey
This is one of those songs that I've been working on for years. I wrote it for a girlfriend who kept going back to the same guy - even though it never seemed to work. This is an alternative polka, with a lot of electric guitar! One that I think the younger generation of polka lovers will enjoy!

10. Without A Doubt (Polka) LynnMarie Rink
On each of my recordings I try to include a traditional Cleveland style polka - which is my roots. I wrote this song with that in mind, thinking of my husband Jim, whom I've been married to for fifteen years.

11. Somewhere By Now (Tex-mex polka) LynnMarie Rink, Steve Ivey
The title for this song actually came from something my father said once. It's about a girl who's boyfriend promises her he'll marry her, but then seems to take his good old time getting there! As you will hear, she finally realizes
what's going on, and does the right thing!

12. All Over It (Instrumental Altpolka) LynnMarie Rink, Steve Ivey
The song selections for this recording go from one end of the musical spectrum to the other. And after listening to this song in particular, I realized that it in itself did the same thing. That is why I decided to call the album, "All Over It". I feel as if I have pushed the limits of the button box by playing - all over it!

LynnMarie dazzled the Tonight Show audience and Jay Leno with her hit "Come Back, Baby".  The show was broadcast on Thursday, February 15.  Leno touted her newest CD, "Squeeze Box", and the star looked forward to the Grammy Award Show.  "Squeeze Box" is nominated as Polka Album of the Year 2000, and LynnMarie is the first woman nominated in the polka category.

LynnMarie won the Annual Achievement Award for the Button Box, given by the National Cleveland-Style Polka Hall of Fame at its awards show on November 30, 1996.

LynnMarie wrote the music for the instrumental, "Button Box Fever", and the music and lyrics for "Last Night", both featured on the 1996 Grammy winner, "I Love to Polka" by Jimmy Sturr and His Orchestra, which was also nominated for Cleveland-Style album of the year. LynnMarie was the featured button accordion artist on the album.
